How long did your southbound crossing take?
Nogales, Arizona is the largest US-Mexico land port between San Diego and El Paso, and the third-busiest passenger crossing on the entire southwest border. It sits directly across from Nogales, Sonora — a single city historically split by the international line. Three official crossings operate here:
Deconcini is the downtown 24-hour port, the default for passenger traffic and the only Nogales option overnight.
Mariposa, three miles to the west, is the heavy-commercial crossing that also serves passenger vehicles 6 AM to 10 PM. It typically has more lanes open and shorter waits midday.
Morley Gate is a small pedestrian-only crossing open 10 AM to 6 PM, mostly used by Nogales residents on shopping trips.
SENTRI is available at Deconcini. Trusted Traveler waits are typically under 15 minutes regardless of standard-lane congestion. There is no Ready Lane at Nogales as of 2026.
Deconcini: 24/7. Mariposa: 6 AM to 10 PM. Morley Gate: 10 AM to 6 PM (pedestrian only).
Deconcini sees the heaviest passenger volume because it's the only 24-hour option. Weekday morning commuter peaks (5–8 AM) and Sunday returns are the worst times.
